Anybody have advice for a noob who just figured out perm-root?

Read, read, read and read. Study up on what you can do with root access and how to do it. Remember to always stay within the realm of your device and don't flash something that wasn't made for the phone. Also, if there's different variants of your phone (international or US versions) then make sure you install software specific to your make.

There are great apps available to your since you have root access - root explorer, titanium backup, WiFi Tether are a few. I hope you enjoy the phone more than you did before root
