invalid email address

When setting up my work email (which is actually a Google Exchange), I can set up incoming messages but not outgoing. I keep getting an error message that says "invalid email address". So, now I am able to receive email, but not send it. It used to work perfectly. I had an Eris (3, actually) - it worked on the first two, then stopped working on the last one and doesn't work on my incredible either. My work IT says nothing has changed on our server, and Verizon even checked their server and found nothing. I'm out of people to call. Does anyone have any ideas?
 
Did you try deleting the account and then adding it again? That might clear up whatever the glitch is.
 
make sure your servr settings are correct. Sounds like you entered the server name wrong for the outgoing mail server.
 
Settings are correct. I had IT look at my phone to make sure. Everything is the same as it was when everything was working.
 
And miraculously it is working now. I changed the settings to require login ( even though I've tried that before and got an error message that our server doesn't require authentication). Oh well, at least it works. Thanks for the advice!
