For *most* of us here, this is not a big deal IMO.

Also, its only good news if they release the Bionic in early September. There are still chances it will be released on or after September 29th. I doubt it, but anything is possible given all of the delays we have seen thus far.....

I know its splitting hairs but there has really only been 1 official delay that turned into a new phone taking etna's place. Nothing was set in stone for a release day for bionic and all of the August 4th, july 28th dates were pure speculation and wishful thinking that was taken as fact and respread and respread around the web. Neither moto or VZ had come out with a release date let alone release month until the recent earnings call that told us September. Not to mention this is an entirely different phone from the origional rendition that wasn't really supposed to release until later this year so we are actually getting this phone early if you look at it. Bionic is just a name that was put on one phone and when that one failed it was put on another that was accelerated in its development process. It never has and never will be the same phone as what was shown at CES so as I said we are in all actuality getting Targa early since Etna no longer exists.

While I agree with everything that you say, it doesn't seem to make the wait any easier.

The only way I see Moto/VZW pushing the release date past Sept is if the phone starts exploding randomly. They will release it if there are issues that can be resolved with software updates.

I love all the features my smart phone has... but when it comes down to it... as long as basics work, i'm ok with bugs. It needs to do phonecalls clearly, send/receive text messages (and mms messages for those that care), and have a browser that works to justify the data plan. Beyond that, anything else not quite working 'perfectly' due to a software glitch is something i'd be able to deal with I only use the extra features about 10% of the time.
