I originally wanted to buy Nexus 6p when it got released but i went out and bought an iPhone .

The reason i bought it was the from factor i wanted to have the same size as my previous phone which was Nexus 5. Yes, there was Nexus 5X at the time but there were things that i didn't like( mediocre look, plastic material and initial test performances did not look good)

Now i discovered this Oneplus 3 which everyone's talking about. It's a phablet but i guess.. this is how it is these days. The phone looks just a bit bigger than iphone 6s and smaller than Nexus 6p/ That's what attracts me.. and of course near stock android experience which i miss.

How's the battery on that phone it says 3000 mAh? iPhone's battery is not that impressive i was forced to buy a power bank in Feb( which is 4 month after iPhone purchase)

Any comments?

Most users are reporting good battery life and I haven't found many that own it that aren't happy with it, so it'd definitely be a good upgrade over the 6s. Do you have the 6s or the 6s Plus?

If there's no pressing reason to switch phones now, it may be worth waiting a couple months for the new Nexus devices. Specs for those (as far as we know) are here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/nexus-2016/695842-nexus-2016-sailfish-marlin.html

I had a Nexus 5 for years, before getting a Nexus 5x at launch. I've said since then that if Google made a 'Nexus 5p' - with the 6p's specs and build, and priced it like a 6p, I'd have bought that instead. I got so frustrated with the lag that I bought a OP3, which I've had for about a week.

I can't exactly compare battery life to a iPhone 6s, but I will say that camping over the weekend, I felt like I needed to charge up less than my girlfriend with an iPhone 6. Of course, that's not scientific since we used our phones differently. It's also got roughly the battery life of the 5x - maybe a bit better in some cases, worse in others.

I thought about waiting for the next Nexuses, which could show up any time from tomorrow through November (but I'd put money on late September/early October), since I really prefer a 5" device, but I will say that the OP3 fits in my hand pretty well. The weight is well-balanced, and the 6p just felt 'too big' in a way that the OP3 just felt 'big.'

As for battery life, I will also say this: Dash charging is fast. It feels way faster than the 15W charging I had with my Nexus. I found a power outlet at a building in our camp site, plugged in and was reading a book for about half an hour, and I went from 8% to over 80%. No, it isn't as good as last-all-day battery, but it does mean that if you can sit down for a short period near power (say, have a coffee, or even the amount of time it takes to have a shower), you can get a pretty big boost to your battery power.

I've only had my OP3 since last Thursday. Yesterday was the first normal weekday routine. I don't use my phone for work making phone calls or anything, but I browse or play games on the bus, the same over lunch hour, and I check email etc fairly regularly throughout the day.

I left my house at 8am with 98% battery. When I got home at 8pm I still had 32% remaining. I put it on the dash charger for 45-mins or 1 hour while I put the kids to bed and it was fully charged. I left it off the charger overnight and it was down to 96% this morning. Put it on the charger for 20 mins before leaving for work this morning and it was fully charged. I'm now nearly 3 hours into my day and it's had nearly 1hr of SoT on my commute to work and I'm sitting at 93% battery. So from my standpoint I'm really happy. I think the battery is above average in its own right and with the Dash charging it's REALLY easy to keep it topped up.

I was a nexus 5 user as well, still my favorite phone ever...well it was, not anymore it's been replaced by the Oneplus.I currently have a 6s as pretty much a daily driver but I've had the Oneplus 3 as well side by side and the end result is that my 6s is now on swappa for sale. My Nexus 6 is going up on swappa too and still undecided on my V10. Bottom line the Oneplus 3 is replacing both my older phablet Nexus 6 and my smaller iPhone 6s as its form factor is the best of both worlds. Not too small and not too big, it just seems to hit the sweet spot in terms of size. It's also giving me iPhone 6s type of performance that I honestly didn't think was possible on android, everything loads instantly with no visible frame drops anywhere. And lastly battery life has been really solid for me, I'm getting 5-6 hours screen on time. I get really good battery life out of my 6s too though so keep that in mind. $399 is an outrageously low price for what you get

Alright, I will be ordering it this week. Seems like a solid candidate!

iPhone battery is actually alright but j guess it depends on the user usage. I personally don't play games and I have zero installed. It's probably due to heavy surfing.. and music streaming. One thing that still amazes me is that when I change it to 100% which i usually do before bed and in the morning it still be 100% even though it's been unplugged for 7 to 8 hours.

iPhone is a solid performer but I think it lacks something for a more advanced users.

Will get oneplus3 this week.

Thank you.

I just got my OP3 coming from a 6S and having owned every flagship since the HTC Evo, I must say that just going by initial impression this is my favorite mobile device I've ever held and used. The screen has perfect color reproduction. Battery is better then my 6s. I can't see any pixels so 1080 is beneficial for me. Build quality is flawless and reminds me of an apple product. 100% smooth ui. Only complaint is vibrate motor is a little noisy but $400

Yep standby time on the 6s is nuts, and I only stream music and browse too and that seems to do ok with battery. Actually, streaming podcasts and music seems to affect battery more than the screen being on, 750p resolution has its benefits but so does 1080p on the OP3. I use my iPad charger on the 6s and that speeds things up nicely but dash charge on the OP3 is out of this world, probably the most underrated feature of the OP3, all while not heating the phone up.

I came from an iPhone 6s and the OP3 is an amazing phone! It's buttery smooth, battery lasts a long time, about on par with the 6s, maybe even better! Dash charging has ruined me for other chargers now!

Interesting hearing from those that have had the Nexus 5 and the iPhone 6S.

I've had pretty much every phone on every OS over the last 20 years and the best two were the Nokia N8 (!) and the 6P.

The 6P would've been a keeper had it been a hair shorter, so I went with a 5X instead which I love. Now, the OP3 is the size the 6P should've been for me to keep it, so I am sorely tempted to pull the trigger on this now before the new Nexii arrive.

My question to those that have the OP3 is are you bothered about security/software updates? Coming from a Nexus, isn't the probable lack of security updates a problem? I don't really want to buy a OP3 now then a new Nexus in 2 months as I'm past swapping phones 2 or 3 times a year however, I can see what could happen here...

If you're not sure, it's pretty simple. Wait a couple months and know. To me it's fairly obvious that at least one of the new Nexus phones will be better than the OP3 but it'll also be >= 50% more expensive. As for security updates, most people dont care about them but if you do, Nexus is the only safe bet.
