iphone group chat

[Android Central Question]

My coworkers all have iPhones and have a group chat going. Everytime my one coworker tries to add me to it, there is just a grey loading symbol. I'm assuming it's because I don't have an iphone and don't use imessage.

Does anyone have a solution to this, without making another group chat (because they've already groaned and moaned about not wanting to do that)

Nope, a new chat has to be made. The existing chat is using Apple's iMessage protocol, there is no way to get it off that protocol without deleting it and starting a new one with SMS/MMS fallback.

Have them each send you one iMessage with the SMS box marked. It can be blank and you can delete it once you get it. That will probably make their iPhones send you an SMS for each message sent. If that doesn't work, do what halux suggested - have them start a new chat with SMS marked.
