Hi,

I've been using an iPhone for the last 7 or 8 years and I decided to give Android a try. I got the Samsung s9. I've only had it for about a week. It's pretty nice, but I am certain that I am not taking full advantage of all the capabilities. Where is a good place to find out about all of the features and different settings. What I can say is that there is a few things that my iPhone use to do for me that I miss, and I feel like this phone probably can also, I just don't know how to make it happen.

First I really like how my email app on my iPhone used to autofill email addresses from either email addresses that I had typed before or from email addresses that had emailed me before. Is there a way to make this happen on this phone?

Also I use 2 keyboards, English and Spanish. I type in both depending on who I am talking to. On my iPhone it learned who I used the English keyboard with and who I used the Spanish keyboard with and it would automatically open up to the corresponding keyboard when I went to text someone. Also with the later version of iOS the autocorrect feature just learned when I was speaking English and when I was speaking Spanish and autocorrected accordingly. Can anyone tell me if there is any feature like this with the s9?

Finally, I have seen the posts about the battery life. I will say that I was disappointed at first with he battery life, but mine has gotten better in the week that I've used the phone. I will say that I wish it would be better, but maybe I just need to tweak my settings some more. One thing that is bugging me though is that in my car I play pandora through my car speakers. That is where I get my music from. I noticed today on my way to work that I had my phone plugged in in my car and that the battery still lost life as if I was using battery faster than it could recharge. Any tips?

I would appreciate any advice on these issues as coming from iPhones, everything is way different for me.

Thanks

i just checked my stock email app and it auto filled my email address and recipients name in the appropriate fields ....are you plugging the phone into a usb port in the car? if you are running out of power do you have blue tooth to connect to? that way you could charge the phone at the same time OR if you have 3.5mm headphone input to the stereo that would work as well. I doubt a usb connection puts out enough juice to charge the phone faster than it's using it

also keep in mind when people get a new phone they tend to play with it till the newness wears off, so yeah battery life will suffer...coming from an iphone you are probably used to not swipe closing apps in the background, i would get into the habit of cleaning up apps in the background....sometimes the easiest fix is to restart the phone

The email app will autofill addreseses from contacts but that I want I for it to autofill addreseses I have emailed before.

So it would appear the autofill is connected to the keyboard. I downloaded the GBoard because it lets me type in multiple languages and all of a sudden the autofill started working like I wanted in my email.

On a side note I notice that when I download and use a new keyboard there's a warning that says "GBoard can record everything you type including passwords." Has anyone ever had a problem with this? I figure it's safe since I already have an account with Google and they already have a lot of my info.
