Question iPlay_50 Tablet, Android 12 won't connect to Wifi

Hi folks - appreciate your help in advance. I recently bought my Dad this tablet to replace an old Amazon Fire tablet that stopped connecting to the WiFi. Now this new one will not connect. In his home, the tablet sees the WiFi and everything else still connects fine (their Alexa dot, my and my sisters androids, Moms Hot Pepper android). Took it home and after several tries did connect to MY WiFi. Set it up, brought it over, still no luck with either tablet. Tried all the tricks (PW is fine, power down wifi/phone, in tablet Network reset other stuff). Any and all suggestions appreciated

What band are the tablets and is it the same as the WiFi networks?

The old tablet worked a long time with no issues. Can't find "band" or any helpful info in tablet settings or "about". Dads WiFi network is the same as my home Freq is 5 GHz Type is Wi-Fi 5. New tablet initially connected at my home, and now reconnected just fine.
