IR LED not working??

I recently bought my htc m8 in dubai (the dual sim edition), fone works fine with LED notifications green and amber. Buttons are intact, all seems perfectly working except for one thing. The proximity sensor/IR LED light doesnt work.. i dont know how to address this properly but ive seen in a yt video( posted below not mine) of their m8's with a faint violet blink on the proximity sensor light emitting a blink once it senses a movement. I am just wondering why my fone sensor wont work as that. Thanks.

I wouldn't go by that. How do you know its not working?
Make a phone call and cover the proximity sensor. If the screen turns off, its working.

Open the HTC Guide app,

Go to Phone Health (Diagnostics)

Choose Hardware diagnostics

From there you can make various hardware tests.
