Anyone else love to abuse this feature? I went on vacation to old orchard beach in maine and I loved going around casually changing channels/volume when I'd go to random places. Bruins games was playing at a bar and everyone was all into it and I kept changing it to beevis and butthead, definitely a fun feature

That's funny but I haven't tried it yet.

I was under the impression that that was the sole purpose of the IR Blaster.

Every nearby bar/grill has been victim to my S4.

It seems like an awesome way to mess with TV's in my school. How far is the range of the IR port on the phone? Can I stand like 30 feet away and still use it?

No one will suspect it coming from a phone. Lol

As a Bruins fan, this makes me angry.

Do it to the Yankees games....

Also, I put a case on within a couple days of having my S4. I stupidly thought the IR hole was the headphone hole, and tried shoving the headphones connector into it. Think I could have scratched it up? Seems to work ok...

Fun perhaps...but don't mess with the Stanley Cup Playoffs!

30ft may be too far away. If your at school, sit in maybe the second row from the front to the side. That should put you close enough.

What ever happened to not being childish pricks? If you think it's fun ruining people's time at a bar trying to watch a game you are just a pathetic loser. Grow up.

Wow. A little levity and harmless fun reared its ugly head! A veritable sh!tstorm!! Next time you see an S4 owner get jiggy with his remote at a bar, run him through with a bar spork!

Let me understand, this feature and correct me if i am wrong please

Ya that's what I wondering (since my direct tv remote has to see the ir sensor which interrupts programing so it can set up .) Let me get this stright, you open the app, hit add new remote, select your tv brand, (something pops up on the tv screen) and have fun right. Reason why i ask i like to mess with people while they are watching tv so having the set up menu pop up isnt going to help me(I dont have the phone yet waiting on my gs3 to sell

Also will an otter box defender case. Hurt the ir signal any. (Had cases ever since my 3gs so far they protect the phone One on my 4s broke on tile from 4ft not a scratch on the phone) thank ya for any advice (apparently my tread went dead (only one post)

One more question, how many remotes can the device store?

I change the channel on the TV in the break room at work.
I like to change the channel just as Maury is about to say, 'Your Are Not The Father!!"

I keep pranking my family. Everytime they're watching The Voice (which I hate) and they're going to announce something important, I change the channel. They still haven't figured out that it's me. ;)
