Irritating Request which wont go away!

Since I have upgraded to Oreo every time I access My Files I get the following.

My Files would like to:

View and manage the files in your Google Drive

By continuing you allow this app and Google to use your information in accordance with their respective terms of service and privacy policies.

Deny Allow

Every time I select Deny ... surely that should be it. Access denied - go away and stop bothering me. But no, it always reappears.

Any advice appreciated before I sling the phone!!

Is there a section in My Files where you have added the Drive account or folder or a setting to disable showing Drive into the app (since you don't state which phone you're using it's a bit difficult to troubleshoot)? Problem is that if it's a shortcut or option that's enabled, every time you open it it will poll for permission (if you allow it, then that's it, but when you deny it, next time you open it, it will poll for access again because the shortcut/option is still there).

Sorry not to have responded before now but I have been v busy ... and THANK YOU, yes, under Settings in My Files I had apparently signed in to Google Drive. I can't remember doing this ... but I guess I must have.
