On a contact i saw, it had the number twice for the same contact. It had the number like this (xxx) xxx-xxxx as mobile.

Then on the same contact underneath it, it had the same number the only difference was that it had a +1 in fron of it with no spaces and it was described as a cellular. What im trying to ask is it the same number or does it mean that someone is trying to hide a number by masking it??

Welcome to Android Central! This doesn't sound like anyone trying to hide a number. Did you enter the contacts yourself? When your Phone app asks if you want to add a number as a contact, do you ever agree?

Is this your phone or someone else's? If it's someone else's phone, the best approach is just to ask the owner of that phone.

Ive seen this behavior too, but it's simply the country code of the US of A being added and nothing to worry about.

That sounds like just someone putting the number in the contact name as well as the contact number. (The name and number are just what the user puts in - you can put in anything you like - but the number dialed is the number in the number field.

If you were seeing it in the callerID though, that would indicate a poorly programmed robodialer.
