My phone was updated to 11A back in August.

I thought I read something about a large update being pushed out to USA Verizon users last week but I keep checking and it says I'm up-to-date: (Settings | System Updates).

Thoughts?

I always check when on wifi. Still nothing. I'm new to Verizon:

What's a typical during for a rollout like this? (days, weeks, months?)

12a was pulled, I believe. I got it the day it was released but it has a major wifi sync issue and my belief is that they pulled it after receiving some major negative feedback.
It's too bad, the update, overall is pretty great. It improves upon touchscreen issues that some were having and added a feature in the camera too. Probably some other stuff too.
Anyway, the hope is that verizon does the right thing and gives another update soon to fix the wifi sync for the ones that got the update quickly.

The update (VS98612A) has NOT been pulled .. it is still very much active out there. Verizon's way of rolling out this update is not by location/region .. but by Serial Number. I also have the LG G4 in which yes, the OTA was released on Oct 9 .. here it is now Oct 20 and I still have not received. I have a very good contact in Verizon that gave me this information, the only thing he could not obtain was where the OTA status is right now in regards to the Serial Number sequencing. Hang in there .. we'll get it.

I certainly don't doubt what you're saying, but on the various forums I haven't seen anyone say they received the update after 10/9 or 10/10. In addition, nobody would want the update with the existing wifi sync issues. They are very troubling and really ruin the experience of the phone if you're someone who goes from wifi to 4g and back throughout the day.
Please ask your contact if verizon/lg are working on a fix for this issue. Thanks in advance.

I doubt what your saying @LordGeek. I just installed the Software Update - Software Upgrade Assistant on a windows pc, connected my LG G4 and it was emphatic: 11A is the latest and the phone is up-to-date.

However, supporting @LordGeek, when I called verizon tech last night, he said there is a 12A, and claims to have checked the boards that there is no negative feedback on it. However, he couldn't explain why it's 10/22 and the OTA says 11A is the latest.

There's no way it takes from 10/9 to 10/22 to rollout 12A so I do suspect there's something wrong with it.

Most rollouts happen over 10-14 day span and it could be longer if there are any issues reported.

I WISH that I was till on 11A, but unfortunately I got 12A when it was first released. The WiFi lag is so bad that I have just turned WiFi off on the phone! I really hope that they release an update correcting this, but with Verizon's history on updates, I could be on to my next phone by then :)

For me the 12A update was a big improvement.
1. Screen touch issues fixed - no missed taps on keyboards (still can't spell, but now have no missing letters)
double tap works 100% to shut off screen & only time time for turn on is when screen has been off for several hours; mayby 75% good - other times 100% good
2. Batteyr life unchanged for me (light user) - currently @ 70% -on battery 24 hrs +,screen on 3 1/2 hrs. - have adjusted things so uses little power in standby or idle
3. added a new vol. slider - separate for ringtone & notifications

Got the update 10-9. For some reason they must have pulled the update, have not seen anyone with much later dates. Note: I have my phone setup so all updates are on wifi only, so I don't know when the update was available.

Still on 11A :-(

Apparently - but it has not been factually proven - Verizon stopped pushing out the 12a update because of issues with notifications not going through while connected to wifi. I am on the 12a update and have that problem with my G4.

My guess though, is the next update that is pushed out to our phones will be 6.0 marshmallow, sometime in January.

Don't worry about being on the 11a, it works and 12a, other than "fixing" the stagefright vulnerability, really din't improve much.

Really wish they'd hurry up and patch 12A. It's getting ridiculous that I have to turn wifi off to later find out that I have had 7-12 notifications on stuff that didn't come through while on wifi.

Moral of the story (which I already know but often ignore): don't rush to be the first person to get an update! (wait a few weeks)!

Sorry this happened to you.
