Is 4.1 an option for the Rezound?

It seems like 4.1 is a handful of great improvements to 4.0 but nothing that the Rezound should not be able to handle. With the timeline or lack of timeline for the Rezound getting 4.0 will it be a possibility of getting 4.1 in the future? It seems like the Rezound's hardware could handle 4.1 so could it be possible for Verizon to just skip over 4.0 and go straight to 4.1?

It's probably too early to tell. If you don't have a timeline for ICS yet though, I doubt there's much chance of getting JB on it through Verizon. You'd likely have much better luck looking for a some other custom ROM to get what you want.

Agree with the first poster.

Highly unlikely V skips over 4.0 and jumps to 4.1. HTC would first need to over sense on top of it then send it to V for testing and etc etc. Given how long it's taken just to get 4.0 your best bet is going to be to root then find a ROM that incorporates 4.1. It's likely going to run better with better features Verizon would never allow (tweaks and the like) and also without the inevitable bloat that Verizon will undoubtedly shoe horn onto it.

I will be the negative one on the jb topic. We will never get it from HTC. Just like we will never see an official s4 rom. The best we can hope for is a rom in a few months from one of the devs

Jellybean requires a binary (per phone) to build, just like ICS. ICS has been out seemingly forever and HTC still hasn't released that binary for the Rezound, so the chances are slim and none that you'll see official JB on the Rezound. However with the number of new phones that are "similar" to the Rezound, I'm sure you'll see the ROM version one day...heck maybe even before the Rezound gets official ICS lol.

what are you talking about? We have a time line for ICS. HTC told us we would have it early 2012.

Oh wait...

What is a binary?

I think we all know the answer to this question, which is "No,not officially". We should expect ICS and that's about it. But when we choose the Rezound over the GNEX we knew we were trading future OS updates for clearly better device hardware now. ;)

Not to speak for Mr. Smith but what I think it means is every phone has it's own personal build of JB just like everyphone has it's own individual ICS build tailored to it. So, seeing as how it's taken forever and a day to get the Rezounds build of ICS put out, it would be unrealistic for them to skip ICS and go straight to JB. And due to the length of time it's taking just for ICS, it's very unlikely that they're going to be building an OEM JB for a phone that will be probably at least a year old when JB is or would be ready.

In other words...its gonna take a dev to do it. But don't worry, I'm sure someone will. I ran ICS AOSP on my Inc for the final months that I had it. Had some big flaws but it worked and I ran it as a daily driver for several weeks.
