Is 512GB really necessary? Who got the 1TB?

This is my 4-5 phone that has 512GB. I don't take pictures or videos that much unless I'm on vacation.

The most I used was my iPhone 14PM with 430GB since all my purchases is saved in my account. Do I actually really need to download my library? No, it was just to see how close I can get to 512GB?

I had over a Terabyte of saved Movies and TV Show but lost them long time ago. I wasn't backing them up.

My S26U has 196GB. I probably forced 30-40GB for my trip next month to Philippines.

While I appreciate Samsung doubling the storage, I would prefer if they gave us Buds4 Pro.

I got S26U 512 because free upgrade at Best Buy. I have only used 170. But I have lot of music files

I am currently fighting a battle on too little space on my 23 ultra. I got a 512gb. The only reason I almost upgraded to 26 was because of space issues. I have about 24 gigs free at the moment. And every time I look up, some of that disappears and it goes down 13. I delete files. It goes up. A week later it's down to 13 again.

I'm not sure what cache is eating it up. I keep deleting files, I keep getting into territory that is a little too close for comfort.

(I won't repeat my bitter complaints on the removal of SD cards, but...)

My tablet is another question. 512gb is plenty. But that comes with an SD card.

I think 256 is fine for many and 512 should be plenty unless you shoot a lot of videos. I ordered the 1TB as I store a lot of music files plus I wanted the 16GBs of ram. I use an external USB-C drive to store videos.

I got the 1TB S26 Ultra because it was $1599 at Bestbuy, and I could trade more than one thing towards the purchase of the phone.
I was always getting the 512 due to double storage. And I try to keep my phones 2 years but I do go to a lot of concerts and listen to live music at the clubs and take a lot of video and pictures. I don't keep music on my phone storage. But just to be safe I like having 512 and we do pay for extra Google storage and I have YouTube premium we watch a lot of YouTube videos and hate the ads. But I did used to say I could get by with 256 if I just transferred my pictures and video on my computer once it starts getting full.

I used to get the 512 phones because I just liked the idea of having the extra space if I needed it. It was really a waste for me because I never even used up half that space. My s26 ultra is 256 and that's my sweet spot. I don't feel like I have too little or too much space.

1TB here also. It was only like $200 more then the 500G, so at that point why not? I would rather have the storage and not need it, instead of need it and not have it.
Plus, since I am seriously thinking about keeping them longer, I think I would like to have bases covered and not face pressure to upgrade because of running out of space.

Same here. I upgraded from a 10+ which I had for like 6 years. Only reason i upgraded is because the battery is not holding out, and thats even with replacing the battery already. I plan to keep this for 5+ years atleast.
