Is 64gb internal with no expandable memory enough?

I find it interesting that they chose to do 64gb internal option only (no 128gb option) and no microSD card slot. Personally I would prefer a microsd slot, but if not, then I would like to have the 128gb internal option

I think 64 GB is more than adequate for 90+% of consumers. For the 91-95% it might be ok, and some storage issues may come up. However, frequent posters like you and me are in that top 5% where this phone was not really designed for us.

I understand but... My point was adding an sd card shouldn't be a big deal, imo.

I would've preferred an SD card, but 64 GB should be plenty.

To be honest I use two Sims, so on the bright side at least I don't have to choose. Though I would prefer the option.

It's best to assume I'm being sarcastic. if I'm ever serious I'll type "/s" to make it clear.

Maybe it is a big deal to add SD cards. I don't like how consumers think, adding things is easy. As an engineer, making a battery bigger, adding SD card, making it run cool, these things are not options they just press a button on and poof, it's done. These are tough things to add. I hope people can understand that.

I've just given up on cards. Especially now that you can integrate them as storage. That will drive the read/write cycles up and wear out cards faster.

For me personally it is - however I'd prefer to have a 128 GB option over an SD card, especially with how much OEM's have sucked at implementing adoptable storage. Of course, I'm also looking for the 256GB option - where's it at guys?

Yep more than enough given most of my stuff is in cloud anyway. 32 gb should be minimum, 64 or 128 is nice to have.

That 1TB SSD I bought is smaller than all my recent phones. Sure there wouldn't be much room for other stuff... but I'm fine with a big as heck 1TB phone with an Nvidia X1 SoC, 16GB RAM and dual front facing speakers that are wide enough apart to actually get stereo listening :D

64GB is more than enough for most users.

But for me, I need more. I fill up my phone's storage pretty quickly thanks to my stored videos for travels along with moments captured on my phone's camera, either through high-res photos or 4K video.

Thus, for my usage pattern, I need that expandability. Notice that I bolded it.

Yes! Haven't used an SD card in about 4 years. I've taken lots of pictures & some videos using the 64GB internal memory of my phone and it has sufficed for my needs. I upload older pictures to either Dropbox or Google.

Given this phone's price point - 64GB is awesome as far as I'm concerned. Fewer SKU's drives prices down and reduces inventory risks (which saves costs further.) I think it's a smart move that they chose one size, chose a good one, and made it affordable.

They could have settled on 32GB quite easily and said "yeah, but the price!" And got away with it. In a world of compromises, they've made a good choice here and executed on it well.

64 is plenty for me. I use the cloud for most things. I always get the 64 GB version of most phones anyway like the iPhone and 6p. I see how having more or expandable is nice to have also and those who need more as well.

Can someone with a new OP3 tell me out of the box (or right after a update out of box) how much free storage IS available with just stock OS on it, and w/o the "bloat" on the "big box" phones? Thx!

Mine started downloading stuff straight away as backed up w/Google, but I think it was 52GB?

I'll let the person below correct me. :)
