Android Central Question

Hi Everyone,
Bought a Pocket 2 and it will not authorize. Spent over an hour with their technical help and they could not confirm that the phone is incompatible, but they thought it was. Does anyone have any info on this?

The tech sent me a link to a page with info on the Mimo app (not the device itself) which said that it was compatible with a number of phones, the Nexus 6 was not on the list. But the tech said that it could also be a problem with the Pocket 2.

It would be nice to know before going out and buying a $600 phone. Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Rick E

Hello Hallux, thanks for the help. The link you provided is what I used to determine that I could use the Pocket with my phone. The real issue it seems is that the phone is not compatible with the Mimo app. Why would one look for compatibility with an app when you're buying hardware? Just in case this question is asked again, take a look at this page (for Mimo) https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...Fdownloads%2Fdjiapp%2Fdji-mimo&token=Mzo1aTUB
this also says Android 7.0 or higher, but the Nexus 6 is not on the list of compatible phones. Odd place to bury such info, huh? Thanks again.

hello Hallux, I replied and included a link that has info on the Mimo app, not the hardware. I submitted and the info just disappeared. Apparently it didn't like the link. The info is buried not on the hardware spec page, but on the Mimo app info page. My phone is not on the list, but the tech I spoke with today could not confirm that that was indeed the issue. I'm hoping to avoid spending a bunch of money only to find that the problem was the Pocket 2 - I'd get burned twice. Thanks for your help!

Hi welcome to AC!
The system Flagged you , your good now !

There can be other hardware or software reasons for incompatibility -- not just the Android version. Unfortunately, this isn't always spelled out by the developer or the Play Store.

Did you try clicking the "For older versions" link?

Hello Hallux, mustang7757 and B. Diddy, Thanks for your input. I did look at the "For Older Versions" link and did not find anything that was helpful. Sure, I guess there could be some problem with my phone (besides any incompatibility issue) that could cause the failure, but boy it is incredibly frustrating to buy something and not even be able to test it out. Sure seems that they ought to have multiple types of platforms that you can authorize the product with - like how about a computer? The Mimo computer language learning app is not what I was using. I've never seen that before - odd that they're using the same name. BTW, I just learned this morning that DJI has been added to a US economic Blacklist due to issues with government surveillance issues in a bunch of different countries. I went ahead and ordered a new phone (on the list of compatible devices) thanks again guys for all your help!
