Is anyone else having problems setting ringtones?

For some reason I can't set custom ringtones or notifaticans on my Note 8. Started happening a few months ago. I tried using the Zedge app, and even tried putting them in the Ringtone and notification folders on internal storage and it still won't work... It keeps reverting back to current themes settings. It never did this before prior to a few months ago.... Is there a fix for this? Is anyone else having this problem?

just save it to the Zedge library then select from there when you go to change. i.e pick a source> Zedge found it fixed the problem 100%

Sorry it's still doing it. It was the first thing I tried. Then I tried putting the stuff in the Ringtones and Notification folders and that didn't work either. I have found out that it's a known issue for Oreo. Hopefully with the new upgrade to Pie will fix this...
