Is it me...

several note owners here, including myself, have reported this already. definitely there

Angled color shifts is typical of OLED's. Some are just more prominent than others. The Pixel 2 XL's are scrutinized so much more just because the target market for these phones are predominantly Android enthusiasts. Google may advertise it to be for all consumers, but until they start offering the phone to more carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint) like the Note 8, it is what it is.

I wish it was offered thru AT&T myself. Instead, I'm jumping carriers just to pick this up.

Saw it on Note 8 demo units at Best Buy and Verizon. Nowhere near as pronounced as Pixel 2 XL and shifts toward blue-gray in tint. Also have to tilt the phone at a sharper angle.

Looks like it's on a flat surface and looking from above.... Not much viewing angle at all🙄

The blue tint on my 2XL doesn't bother me at all. In order to see the tint I have to hold it at an angle I would never use so it is not an issue.

I bought the V30 today and it also has the blue tint. While I would prefer it not have any issues, it's definitely not a deal breaker..

As a side note this is my first oled phone and I'm not having nearly the eye strain I was on previous phones. Kinda a nice surprise.

In all fairness ,I have my 2XL coming next week and the issues it may have are warranted so I`m more than happy...on a side note(!) my only other choices for my upgrade are the Note 8 and the Huawei 10 Pro so I`m not picking fault just pointing out something I`d not seen before.

Just to add to this, Supersaf has just uploaded a speed test, the iPhone X vs the 2XL and in my opinion the X has a lot more blue hue on a white screen than the 2XL (near the start around 18 seconds) https://youtu.be/8RsbzuorKms

Definitely will have for OLED screen, it's how severe only. And nobody was really bothered by it previously until Pixel 2 XL gained the attention lol

Only pointing it out because, according to the reviews, the 2XL seems to be the only phone with this problem (yeah right!)

Someone tell Android Central! But believe what I've read and that this is a by product of the screen type with other phones, including the all mighty, all powerful, iPhone X, having it, but the tech media jumped down Google's throat over it. Maybe because Samsung and Apple can do no wrong? More biased reporting.

This blue tint thing has been blown WAY out of proportion. Too many sideline quarterbacks in my opinion. Very similar to all the complaining about the iPhones 6 bending too easily which was absolute nonsense in hindsight.

I agree that the blue tint issue got blown out of proportion, as some XLs only show color shift at what most would call extreme angles. BUT I have also seen examples, including on my own XL, where the color shift happens at even slight angles while the phone is being used normally.

It's not a deal breaker for me. But I definitely understand how it could be for some people. Yes all OLED screens deal with this issue as a limitation of the technology but the XL received more scrutiny because it's much more pronounced on many XLs than it is on any other high end OLED phone.

Yup, a lot of the criticism it has received is because of the price tag. When it's priced similarly to the iPhone X and Note 8, it's going to be directly compared to those devices. If it was a $400 phone, people would just say what do you expect from a $400 phone, and most people would probably overlook the issue.

That being said, it's not a deal breaker for me, either. So I guess I'm overlooking it also, haha.

Pixel 2 XL is supposed to be much worse in the blue tint than the rest. Not sure. You all can probably go to any phone shop to compare your phone side by side with others to see is it true
