Really???? Thanks for the help!!!!Sms stands for short messege service the keyword being short. Use email for long ones.
Or do the long message in an MMS format.
What about sending it as an MMS?
I would think the sender would need to send it as MMS
There is a setting in handcent that WON'T break up texts you send into 160 characters each, but I was wondering if there was a way to do the same for incoming texts. Or is it a verizon thing to only allow to receive texts at 160 characters max?

I'm pretty sure it isn't a Verizon thing to limit texts to 160 characters because I have gotten texts longer than that & I just use the stock app. That must be a Handcent thing.
I would think if they have a setting to disable that option that would fix it.
That's probably it then. Most everyone I know here in rural Indiana have Verizon because all other carriers have ****ty reception. Haha! This is a carrier issue. If you send an sms from one vzw phone to another vzw phone, you can exceed the 160 char limit (though I don't know how far it can be exceeded). If you get a text from a phone on a different carrier (like att), vzw will automatically break it up.
I will try it out, thanks.I use GoSMS and it doesn't break long texts down.

Is it even possible to send a "text only" message as a MMS?
