i love the way the incredible does copy and paste.. motorola droid devices dont do copy and paste as easily i dont think

I agree the copy and paste, facebook app, and bbm are the only things I miss from my tour

There is an app copy paste pro but you need to root to use it. That is one thing that I miss on my storm9550

I think that is one of the biggest things Blackberry got right the first time.

Why does it seem so difficult for these OS's to support such a simple, much needed, and important function? Apple made you wait for what felt like forever, Microsoft is making you wait for an update, and we are still so very limited with this no brainer function.

Is it THAT hard to develop?

Just hold home key, then when keyboard comes up, swype from info key to SYM key, the select text! That's it, do it any place, any where : )

That only seems to work in an editing field where the keyboard makes sense. Can't use it in, say, Email app to copy from an email I received.

Am I mistaking something? There's already a built in copy and paste function.

Menu>More>Select Text...... and drag your finger over the text you want to copy...then paste from clipboard. Works better then my BBs copy and paste..at least on the Storm devices.

Your not missing anything. The droid X can copy paste anything, from both native keyboards. I prefer swype, in addition to copy paste, I can reformat it, bold it, underline the text, one of the reasons I chose the X. It does this very well.

One more reason I like swype method. It lets me place cursor at the right beginning of text (unlike my finger does sometimes) very nice for accuracy. I still recommend any X user to check the swype videos. This keyboard rocks, and has a ton of tricks.

ROL, sorry to sound sarcastic, but if you can't copy paste on android devices now, gingerbread won't help you, ha ha ha. what are you waiting for again?

The copy and paste on Droid X is limited in my opinion and trying to copy a small area of a sentence is a pain.. I think Copy Paste It has a smoother method of doing this but the developer needs to get real with the price, I'm not going to pay 7.00 to have this feature and I do not choose to use Swipe because I prefer the Multi-Touch Keyboard.

Copy and paste works PERFECT with swype, even in emails! Thanks a lot, now i feel  haha.

That is exactly how I felt when I got it : ) I love the accuracy of it! It is PERFECT! Glad you are enjoying:)

It isn't always possible, but expand your text before using the copy paste function. If it doesn't expand (email) and you grab an extra letter or two, it is easy to fix when pasted. Swype, and that goes away, and you get more tricks....
