I have just gotten my epic (former palm pre user) and i love the phone (upgraded to froyo without a hitch and it runs flawlessly). I see that you can put folders on your desktop and apps in the folders, but can you put individual files on your desktop or in the folders? I have some word and excel files i would like to be able to click on directly and view - is that possible with the android system?

Thanks for your help

(ps - i have file expert app and can find no folders that seem to be related to the folders on my desktop)

You have ThinkFree Office on your Epic. ThinkFree files are saved to your card root directory. You can use Astro file manager to place the files right on your Home screen, (desktop) and view them, as well as edit them.

For example, tap and hold on a Home screen, select Shortcuts, then select Astro, then migrate to the file in your card root directory, select it and you will have that file on your screen. If you want to edit the file, open it, then hit the menu button, then hit edit.....

You don't need a third party app. Use what comes with Android OS 4.4.2
File Manager > Long Press on file > Add to Home Screen

Simple
