AC Question

I currently back up all my camera photos to Google Photos. I recently got the S8 and was surprised to discover that all my screenshots automatically go into the "Camera" folder which is uploaded to Photos. There is currently not an option to stop my screenshots from uploading to Photos, but I was wondering if there is a way to create a separate folder for all my screenshots so they won't automatically go into my camera photos?

Not that I know of.. unfortunately. It is one of the issues I've always had with Samsung phones.

I just re-verified, but the screenshots on my S8+ go to a Screenshots folder. I did not create that, it was out of the box.

If using the default gallery -- yes. For all other purposes -- no. Such as in Google Photos if you go to device folders you can't turn off uploading screenshots since it sees them in the camera roll.

Google photos automatically backs up DCIM folder. Where the screenshot folder reside. Together with camera folder and Facebook folder. And currently there's no option to exclude them. Other brands though doesn't have this problem because screenshot folder isn't inside DCIM.

Some remedy. On Google photos search "screenshot" and it will show all the backed up screenshot, select them all and delete. Be careful though, it will also show photos of screens like when you take a photo of a monitor or even a cars hud screen.

I have the same problem with you and I don't want backup my screenshot into my Dropbox. I found a Android app from Google Play Store , you can search and install "PinSync" on Google Play Store. you can easy to stop auto backup process...
