I used to have a Palm Treo and Storm 2 and with both phones I was able to sync the whole phone with my PC so that if I ever lost my phone I could get all the info back on my new phone as if I didn't replace it at all. I know I can sync my calendar and contacts thru Gmail, and I can save stuff on my card but if you lose your phone the card will he lost with it. Any way to sync the whole phone???

I don't think so. You can try and copy & paste the phone's memory items to your pc, but I'm not sure you will have access to everything on the phone.

Yes, there are some great free backup applications out in the Android market that can accomplish backing up everything. Then when you get a new phone you just download the app and log in to get your data back... Very easy!

Not like you are thinking, but I create nand backups all the time and keep them on my computer in case I ever need them. Nand backup is a complete mirror image of your entire phone OS at that point in time. Need root though.

+1 It might seem a bit paranoid, but I also copy my nandroid backups to my computer.
