AC Question

Is it possible to take a vertical panoramic photo? For example, I want to take a photo of a VERY tall tree, standing only a few metres from it's trunk. Obviously I will need to take multiple photos as I cannot fit the whole tree in one shot.

I'm using Google Camera.
I go into Panoramic mode, and the phone knows which way is up and down, so it doesn't matter if I hold the phone portrait or landscape (I've tried both).
I've also tried having auto rotate screen enabled and disabled.
Each time the phone automatically locks on doing a normal panoramic shot which is joining individual photos to each other on the sides (horizontally, left and or right).

So basically, I want it to go vertically, up and or down. Can this be done?

I know, panoramic by definition means wide view. But I still want to take a (long) photo of this awesome tree!

I have an LG G3, rooted, running Bliss Pop ROM, Android 5.1.1.

Welcome. :)

I just tried it on my G4....no go. I'm guessing it's related to the sensors.
You could possibly try a panorama stitching app from the Play Store....take many shots both vertically and horizontally, stitch, then crop to the central vertical strip.
