Welcome to the forums. I think the first thing you need to do is look over your steps for rooting (that needs to be attained first. If you can't root, you can't flash a custom ROM). If you can, then I would suggest to start reading everything you can about rooting your device. Try looking for YouTube videos. Find 3 or 4 of them. Once you have read everything through, read it all again. Take notes. Watch your videos at least twice.
But to answer your question: can it be bricked? Possibly. There is always a possibility of bricking it. If you follow proper steps, the risk is mitigated to almost nothing.
