Is it safe to use my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in water if I have a scratch on my screen?

The scratch is very small and hard to notice. If you run your fingernail down the screen it wont go directly into it but bump over it.

Maybe, but I consider the water resistance as more of a backup plan than a license to use the device in water. If you do decide to use it in water, be sure to have a backup of anything you care about that's stored on the device or the SD card or the next post you make here is going to be one asking how to retrieve data from your waterlogged device that no longer boots.

It is not "safe" to use any phone in water. They are water resistant at best, not waterproof. Scratch or no scratch, I wouldn't take your phone into the water period.
