Is it worth the risk of buying S3?

I have an Alcatel idol 3, but thinking of S3 for more power, ram and storage and importantly cheap price of $129 on black Friday.

Sound, both through the speakers and headphones is crucial for me. Feedback from S3 owners?

I use Nova launcher. Curious if using Nova makes software acceptable or still a problem?

Are LeEco apps intrusive or can you hide them?

Finally, what is return policy? Anyone deal with company on return?

Thanks for any information.

In excellent used condition it's worth about $60-$90, so that seems a bit overpriced. Nova has very little to do with whether apps will run - if they will run, Nova will launch them. (It's the only launcher I've used for years.) You can hide any app.

The return policy depends on what you're buying, a phone or a phone and plan. Considering the price, I doubt this one comes with a plan, so there's probably a 14 day "it doesn't work" return policy. As for an "I changed my mind policy", that depends on the store manager ultimately, but usually no.

(Sound should come from either the earphone or the speakers, but not both at the same time [which is how phones usually work, but since I don't own an S3, I can't verify it. But that's how it works on a Note 3].)

I've been using the S3 as my daily for a few weeks now. Great option for the price.

1. To my knowledge, you cannot play sound through both the speakers and the headphones.

2. Nova launcher works just fine! I was using it regularly until I switched to Action.

3. LeEco's apps are all a variety of content/entertainment apps. I haven't used them and they are basically invisible once you install a new launcher. (can't be uninstalled though, which likely is due to their connection to the default launcher)

4. Last I checked, the return policy was 15 days. I've had mine longer so I'm not sure how smooth that process is.

Hope this helps!!

P.S. I personally recommend it. I've been loving it so far.

Thanks so much for info. As far as audio I meant listening via headphones, while I am charging the phone. Since headphones and charger cable use same USB-C slot, you can only charge or listen, not both.

Yeah, unfortunately this is the case. However, I'm happy to say this phone has stellar battery life so I've never found myself in the situation where that was an issue.

The bluetooth headphones they offer are nice, if you're thinking about that as an option around the single port issue. Plus, they show the battery indicator next to the bluetooth icon for the headphones.

They have a cheap Bluetooth Speaker for $17 that I might buy to complement S3 solo speaker and with Quickcharge 3.0, I will feel fine running at lower battery %., so no 3.5" also ok I guess.

FYI, the Le Eco return policy is 15 days except 30 days for California. That is return for no reason.
