Is it worth waiting for official JB release for GS3 before buying

If you are not in a hurry to buy a new phone right now, would it make sense to wait till JB is officially released (September 2012?) by AT&T before getting it? For some reason I think a factory installed Jelly Bean GS3 will run much better than one updated OTA from ICS. I could be completely talking out of my ass here or it is just my OCD kicking in or both. Another advantage is it will give me a chance to see what the iPhone 5 has up its sleeve. Thoughts?

If the S3 is what you want, buy now. Then you can see what people are saying about JB if and when it drops and have the choice.

A couple of problems.

1. The S3 is a very nice phone and you don't say what you have now but it will almost certainly be nicer than what you are currently using.
2. If you wait for Sept/Oct (release date never jives with when you can actually get your hands on it) then it will only be a couple more months before Key Lime Pie drops and it will have something you will want to wait on. Pretty soon it will be Jan, 2014 (not a typo) and you will still be running your current phone...

I was in the same rut (No 2) and what I did was to decide I wanted a new phone, decided between the S3 and HOX and got it.

Why wait? The OS updates will only make a high performance device even better.
