Is Kingroot suitable to root my new Vivo V9 smartphone - Android version 8.1.0

Is Kingroot suitable to root my new Vivo V9 smartphone - Android version 8.1.0 ? I have just purchased it and have no data on the phone yet so I expect it wouldn't matter if any data was taken during the installation process.
Is this ok to install for this particular phone and has anyone had problems with this being done ?

No data will be taken, but the only way to tell if they have an exploit for that particular phone/Android version combination is to run the program (don't run the app on the phone, run the program in a PC, with the phone connected to it).
