Is low call volume still an issue today?

I've read a lot of threads for the last year complaining about the low call volume on the Droid Turbo. Is this still a current issue?

Thought about picking one up on eBay but low call volume complaints scares me. Might have to fall back to a Moto X 2nd gen or LG G2.

I've never had an issue with low call volume since I got the Turbo on release day. I usually keep the volume one click down from being all the way up. The phone speaker is on the upper right side of the phone and as long as you keep that part up to your ear it is plenty loud.

That's very important...you need to hold the phone off-center to hear it well. But even so, there are better speakers for calls (the HTC One series, including the M9, being excellent in that regard).

Ok well maybe it shouldn't deter me from trying one. When you read both professional & user reviews making a big deal of the low call volume it makes you take notice.

How is the volume for ringtones, alarms, etc. are they louder than the call volume or do they tend to be on the low side too?

I've not seen a Turbo in person just read reviews about it being heavy & somewhat thick. Can one use this in a case without it being super heavy?

Did the Lollipop update help with any bugs, etc. or improve any features?

Does anyone regret buying the Droid Turbo?

I thought the call volume was low even when you 'held it right', but has been fixed for a long time now. I use the Motorola Flip Case and love it, even though I thought I would never like a flip case. I do not think it is too big and thick, unless you have well fitting jeans with small front pockets.

Thanks leehardballer! So it's also plenty loud then for ringtone notifications for incoming calls, text messages, & alarms right?

Also do callers say they the call quality is good?

The other volumes you mentioned are fine, but I don't know what you're comparing it to. Sounds like you should check it out in a store and see if it meets your specific needs/desires.

Idk what you would consider loud enough, but I keep the notification level at about 3/4 and I can hear it from my front jeans pocket most of the time. I also keep the call volume at about 3/4. When it's quiet and I want to keep it private, I have to turn it down. When it's noisy, I will turn it up all the way.

I have had no issues with call quality. Advanced Calling is especially good, but no one I know wants to turn it on for some reason....

Thanks everyone thought I'd give one a try since I have 14 days to return it if not satisfied.

I have had the Droid turbo nylon ballistic 64gb from the time they came out, And I really like this phone, I don't plan to up grade at all, The thing fits my hand very well, I don't want a phone any larger then 5.2. I think you will enjoy the phone.

Thanks nice to hear that! Now if I can find a case that provides adequate protection yet not add too much bulk I'll be set.
