is mobile network signal accurate?

I have looked at my battery stats and my mobile network signal is always on like a yellowish tan color with vertu little lines of green. Is that data really accurate. I get service. But I didn't realize it was like that. Could that be the reason for my battery drain? I took my phone of the charger at 6:50. Been using it for a half hour consistently and is at 84%... Normal?

You might look at the network figures with an app like 'Network Signal Info'.
Bad network could the battery drain.
'GSam Battery Monitor' might be some help if there another cause

All I do with it is Facebook, check emails and Web browser. No streaming music or video at all
