is Moto Display always on ?

So I left the S7 Edge for the LG V20, after heavily considering the Moto Z Force Droid.

Well, less than 24 hours in, I'm ready to return the V20. Dont like the FPS on the back, don't like the physical feel of the phone, battery is lame, and I find myself missing the Samsung Always On Display.

I previously had a Droid Maxx and Droid Turbo, but I forget. I know it pops up when you have a notification. But does the Moto Z Force show the time at all times?

No it doesn't. Only when it sees motion. The sensor is on the lower right of the devices face

It doesn't breathe the same way older Motos did.

It will come on with new notifications, or when you wave.
