All right, well, I put together some files. This is me BARELY using my phone, used as a ground level. Basically only used my phone as a watch.

Near the end of my test, I forcefully used my screen so I would be able to see the data on it (prior to that, it used barely any power that I couldn't see any drain from it). I had no wifi. I had no GPS. No location services. No battery saving. Basically in my pocket throughout the day, with time checks every 1-2 hours.

Is my battery normal? I've looked at my friend's iPhone 6, and her battery took forever to drain from 100% to 99% with constant screen use. Thanks guys.

That forcast is purely an estimated guess based on your usage patterns. I really wouldn't get too hung up over it.

iPhone has similar software to VW's emissions, designed to fool it's users to believe their battery will last for ever... only it's as ****e as ever 😃

Oh, no. I don't mean my forecast. I'm looking at the actual battery life I get.

I really dislike how the battery dies so fast compared to all my friend's with iPhones who's phones literally last two days without a charge while I always have to recharge in the middle of the first day with barely any use. And this was the most I could get out of my battery. Basically not using it at all.

Depends on what you want to define normal as. There are countless threads just like this one asking if their battery life is right. Depending on who you ask depends what answer you get. Some will have the same as you and will say it's normal. Some will have better battery life or some will be getting great battery life with 4.5 up to 5.5 hours of SOT.

I personally was getting 4+ SOT on a 20 hour discharge and still have 20% on 5.0.2 (At&t). They finally released 5.1.1 last month and I struggled to get 2 hours of SOT. After a factory reset and a week of use I'm back to 3.5 hours SOT with about 15+ hour discharge.

Read through my thread All Things GS6 and follow through the suggestions.

I have tweaked the crap out of my phone, but anything around 4hr SOT over 15+ hrs, is good in my usage. The lowest SOT I have had over 15hrs is around 2hrs and the highest is just over 6hrs, so yeh you should aim for 4hrs SOT.

I guess no one wants to admit this based on the replies he's received, but I would say no this is not normal! He barely used his phone so it should not have dropped at the rate it did. If you recently updated your phone to 5.1.1 that would explain why you're experiencing this battery drain.

Hey Shon, thanks so much for your reply. I found out that it may be that my college's dorms/classrooms have extremely bad reception, causing my phone to constantly search for the service. When I'm at one of my family friend's house with 4G/LTE, my battery lasted extremely longer! I'm assuming it was the network connection doing the most damage.

Any tips on how to counteract it? Thanks.

Taylor, if the phone is switching between LTE and 3G it will suckered down battery. So will just a weak signal.
