Is my battery gauge reading incorrectly?

So I look at my battery meter. The gauge reads it should be around 50% but the numeric gauge says other wise. What do you guys think?

is 41% the same thing as 50%? I don't think so, so yes it's wrong.

The gauge decreases in 10% increments. It is there just to give you a rough idea. If you want to know exactly what your battery percentage is then you need to download one of the many apps in the play store (or root)

So what's wrong with that reading??? It looks perfectly reasonable to me.

The readings were taken 3 minutes apart.

With the screen on, it could easily be that if fell from 45.00001 to 44.9999 in three minutes.
If rounding were in effect it need have only fallen from 44.5 to 44.4999.
