Is my PixelXL² Google Assistant jealous!?

So, why is it that when I'm in my car or at work or anywhere other than home that 50% of the time I have to say "hey Google" at least 2 times before it wakes up; but, as soon as I get home around my Mini or my Home assistant, then my PixelXL² responds every single time even if it's in my pocket? It's rather annoying because I want it to know that I'm talking to the other assistants now. But.. Noooo, it gets all jellee jellee and wants to answer every single time. Go figure! Anyone else experiencing a jealous assistant phenomena?

When I say "OK Google" or "Hey Google" and I'm within range of my Google Home Mini, it's the Home Mini that responds, not my Pixel 2 XL, and that's the way it's supposed to work.

That's possible, but certainly not at work. It's no more noisy than home.

I agree, it should work that way, but it doesn't for me and yes I have the latest version of the app. Today, I even noticed that both units will make a phone call at the same damn time... WTH!

The same with me, I can count the times it works as it should, most of the time, both answer or you can see the Phone at least listening. The only thing so far that annoys the hell out of me since I got my Mini.
