I have not seen any other posts about locking. Anyway, when I press the home key, my lock screen comes on, then when I swipe, the next screen is fuzzy and wants me to "draw a series of directions to unlock screen" and below that "Emergency Call". I don't know what to do from there. Can I reset something?

I was clicking on some settings yesterday which seemed to have something to do with arrows. So if I have a pattern lock and I don't know what I set, now what?

Did you set a pin number just in case? Use your pin and then change your screen lock. Or restart your phone and it should ask you for a pin number. Everytime i restart my phone it asks for my pin number first before i can use the finger print scanner. Not sure its the same on swipe or pattern lock but it's worth a try

Well normally you can't set it by just tapping. You'd have to draw the pattern two times to confirm it before it accepted it. Do you remember drawing one?

It is not asking for a password on restart so I assume I didn't set one.
I must have drawn the pattern twice, not knowing what I was doing. I have contacted Samsung and my carrier and they both recommend a hard restart, which I will probably do tomorrow at my local phone store. At least I have all my contacts on my old phone and all my pictures are on an SD card. Thanks for the input.

I would try logging into your Google Account on a PC and then go to Android Device Manager (https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager). From there you can setup a new password and GPS/Locate your device.

You can also check this guide out as well -- http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...s/640158-guide-forgot-password-read-here.html.

Tried everything suggested and nothing worked. They did a restart of my phone but it would not sign into my Google account and the tech could not get around it. Now I have to call Samsung for more help. Will it ever end? I am now using my old S4 so at least I have a phone.

Yeah you can't get past that security feature. The previous account must be signed into before the phone will unlock for use again.
