Pure Android doesn't necessarily mean that it is better. I would say for the general consumer, a phone like a Droid Razr or Rezound would be better. The UI overlays make it easier for the general consumer to navigate and enjoy. And I have found that the general consumer has a tendency to use some of the bloatware that comes on smartphones. Updates to the newest software really only appeal to a small percentage of Android users. The rest of users just want a phone that works. The Galaxy Nexus is going to be a good phone, but it may not appeal to the masses. I wouldn't be surprise if most people even knows what the Nexus line is. But they will probably know what Droid is. After having the Nexus S, pure Android doesn't interest me anymore. I spent a lot of my time downloading widgets and customizing my homescreens to look like Sense anyway. I may have well just gotten an HTC phone.
