Is SD problem fixed in upgrade to 3.2?

I just purchased a Xoom with Android 3.2.1 on it and build HTK75D (just WiFi); and the SD chip is read only. I have gone through a lot of forums, and some say this has been fixed in 3.2, while some say not.

This puts me in a quandry, as I am still in a position to return this tablet, and get a transformer or whatever. I could also wait and see what is coming out in the next couple of months. But I really like this tablet, for a lot of reasons, and if I could get the SD to R/W I would be very happy with it. I really don't want to have to root it just to fix the SD problem.

Does anyone know if, in fact 3.2.1 was supposed to fix the SD problem? If not is there any other way around it other than rooting? If not does it look like there will be comparable units coming out this fall that will be priced at about the same price as what the WiFi Xoom is presently selling for?

Should I wait it out? Any thoughts will be appreciated.

I can not write to my SD Card with either ES File Explorer or Astro and I have the latest 3.2.2 update.

I believe its working as intended. This is how it was supposed to be.

Yeah, unrooted it is only writable from connected USB. I put my "read-only" music & video files on mine.

Has anyone seen anything about making the SD R/W in the future?

I haven't heard anything. If this is how the SD card is supposed to work, I hate it. I would have rather they just made a 64GB Xoom.

Unfortunately, I don't think R/W is coming, so you may just want to root to get it. I know it kind of sucks that you have to root to get functionality that to me, seems fairly standard but, isn't that part of the appeal to getting a Xoom, being able to easily root and change the functionality that you don't like?

Sorry guys I just gave up. Am going the transformer route. It seems the same quality, with the same hardware (and 3.2), but with storage you can utilize from the inside. Thanks for your thoughts
