I am here in Manhattan KS and its been crap last couple weeks i think we are getting 4g soon and that's why i guess but been having signal issues and data loss kinda sucks but according to sprint they will be done in a couple weeks...
CROSSING MY FINGERS
It may be all in my head, but I feel like I've been having more problems than usual recently as well. I've never had great service on campus but I was usually able to get at least 1-2 bars on 3g. Now I feel like I'm being throttled to 1X more and more often, and in areas where I should have service (like outside).
Reps are always full of crap, telling people what they want to hear. No way in hell are all three carriers ripping out their old towers and replacing them with new ones simultaneously across the country. So the other day when we went to get our Nexus S 4G, the rep told us Sprint, Att and Verizon are going through updating and/or tearing down old towers and installing new towers. However, they are taking down towers prior to putting up/turning on new towers to pick up the "slop" as it were. He said something like the new towers have a higher "bandwidth" so one new tower can do the job of 2 old towers. The contact I talked to said the midwest (IN, OH, MI, IL) should be up at full go by Q1 2012, so October to December I guess, in time to support the large influx of users for the upcoming Superbowl in Indianapolis. He was also under the impression Indianapolis should officially have 4G turned on by mid to late summer.

I'm still thinking this is partially an EC05 radio issue. My phone was going nuts today. I'm gonna have it checked out at the Sprint store, tho I'm hoping that won't be a waste of time.
I'm an evo user in Nyc on the latest prl and have been dropping alot of calls lately. My wife said she calls me alot and I don't answer. But I never got those calls.
