Is T9 trace just Swype baked in?

Or is it Samsungs attempt to not license Swype anymore? I love Swype, but I didn't give the T9 trace a fair shake because I'm so much more comfortable with Swype. I hate that it is technically a beta, but that's why I'm asking... Is T9 as good as Swype or a cheap knock off?

T9 is like a touch wiz launcher. Touch wiz is over vanilla ics. Well T9 is over Swype. Samsung screwed it up. Swype beta from the website is way better. Especially in predicting and auto correct
