I seen alot of talk about it but I have not got it is there away to download instead of waiting to hit my phone

Soon, I imagine. I was at a Verizon store in DC yesterday and snapped this image. This was the GN they had on display

The OTA made its way to some phones, but not all. There is a way to get the update, either by rooting your phone or going through the steps to force the phone to take the OTA without root.

Here is the link on how to get the update WITHOUT rooting or unlocking your phone:
IMM76K Direct for Verizon Galaxy Nexus Manual OTA Instructions [UPDATED][New Working Link] ? StrifeJester's Rants

If I do this method, will my phone pick up the OTA update as well once it's released?

I am pretty sure the forums will "blow up " when OTA update is released. Trust me, we'll know within minutes.

I think he means whenever it does come out, everyone will know quickly. I imagine he doesn't mean that it's coming out "within minutes."

Your right, I didn't mean for it to sound like a prediction. I ain't no Panda, how would I know. But I am checking here alot more than usual.

Just install the leak. You will get better signal, performance and improved battery life. Believe me no point in waiting for official release.
