Is the actual LCD Screen curved or just the Glass above it?

I for one despise the curve, it just introduces specular highlights/hotspots and makes the edges of the screen obscured. They should called it invisible edge not infinity edge, because you can't see the screen behind the glare of the curve! The silly curves also allow light to enter into the Gear VR. My hope, is that I can open the S8 phone up, remove the curved glass OVERLAY revealing an edve to edge flat screen, and I can apply one of Photodon's hardest custom screen protectors! MUAH MUAHHAHAH THEN it would be the Ultimate Gear VR Display! ,..
SO, Anyone know what's under the curved glass?

Nope. The display itself is also curved.

I don't care for the curve either. But, it's not a deal breaker. I thought I was the only one!
