Tired of task managers because all they do is make adjusting to my new Evo all the more difficult. I'm looking around for a good aftermarket battery and I keep hearing that some batteries claim high levels of capacity that they never live up to. Anyway, I thinking about going with the Amzer 1800. Amzer? 1800 mAh Lithium Ion Standard Battery :: HTC EVO 4G Batteries :: HTC EVO 4G :: Droid Accessories for cheap !

Question is does anyone have the Amzer 1800, and if so, how's it working out for you? Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I got earlier amzer battery for my phone and it worked good. best thing with those battery that you do not need any add battery door that makes your phone bulky and you will enjoy more talk time.

I don't have experience with this brand but if I were a betting man I would say this battery has no more capacity than the OEM battery.

I concur. A no-name compnay comes up with a magic solution that offers greater battery life than the one's the OEM's have probably spent millions on in R&D? It's either a scam, or the battery will blow up, or will only last 15 minutes.

Amzer isnt no name they made batterys for a bunch of different phones.

They're in the same boat as Seideo, IMO, and Seideo's extended batteries never did any extending for my Treos.

If you really need to have extra capacity, you're wasting your money with these -- buy a second stock battery from Sprint to keep on hand. And, if you are a Premeir Customer, it'll only cost you $35 after the 25% discount.

Seidio, Amzer, etc. yield about 85% of the advertised juice. 1800 * .85 = 1530. That's an insignificant difference from the original mAh. Waste of time. If you want to extend your battery, deal with the extra bulk from Seidio's 3500 mAh or don't even bother.

I purchased the Seidio 1750 as a back up battery for my phone. Yeah I have read that Seidio is any where from 10 - 20% "OFF" on their mAh ratings. I used the stock battery for 3 - 4 days and have used the Seidio for the last 5 days. Honestly I have not seen any dramatic difference between the so called extended pack and the stock 1500 mAh battery. There was a web page (I can't find it now) that showed some test on different batteries.... The HTC stock battery rated at 1500 mAh tested at I think 1490 mAh and the Seidio 1600 (they didn't have a test on the 1750) tested at 1380 mAh (or round about there) so your better off with a stock 1500 to get better capacity at a cheaper price.... I didn't want to add bulk to my phone so the 3500 was out of the question (and I think the 3500 rated in the 2700 range)

Either way I was going to purchase a back up battery...

Another thing to remember extreme heat will destroy a lithium battery (or it's capacity) they actually tell you to charge the battery to at least 40% and then keep it in the fridge when not in use to preserve capacity... Don't freeze but keep in the fridge... So if you have a back up and keep it in your glove box where it's over 100 degrees your probably killing your battery...
