Is the AT&T Galaxy S9 unlocked, if purchased directly from Samsung?

The thread title says it all. During last week's $150 off sale on the AT&T variant, I picked one up for my wife. Since we're on AT&T, this worked out perfectly. However, since the phone was purchased outright through Samsung, is it factory unlocked, or will I still have to request the unlock code from AT&T?

All phones bought directly from Samsung are unlocked afaik.
