Is the button in this picture, next to the S8 rear camera an actual button? or is it capacitive?

There's a chance that it is a button. It seems like they just took their old home button, turned it sideways, and placed it in the back. But to me, I think it's better if it wasn't a button and just serves as a fingerprint scanner, would be inconvenient to press it that far away.

My guess is thats the fingerprint scanner

Yeah I think it's only a fingerprint scanner and not a button.
