Is the EPIC still worth getting? Free today at BB is tempting

We upgraded my wife's phone with the BestBuy deal last night for free. She is still getting used to Android and having such a sensitive touch screen. It has 2.2.1 on it and i noticed how much more responsive it is then mine, which i bought the first day it went on sale, and also has 2.2.1. Hers doesn't have the keyboard rotate delay or wifi errors. I guess thats what a nice new clean froyo is like.

Hopefully gingerbread fixes my issues.

Maybe you don't want to root your phone. That is ok. You can try to fix it by getting from the android Market ADW Launcher. I use it all the time.

You really cant go wrong with a price tag of FREE. The Epic is an amazing device and for that price I would definitely recommend it. If you're getting it for moderate tweeks as far as rooting is concerned then its the way to go. The dev community is small in comparison to the other options out there though such as the EVO or the Nexus. It seems as though the dev support is greater on the EVO and growing on the Nexus whereas the Epic is getting left behind. But out the box its still one of the best phones out.
