Is the Epic's keyboard the best? If not, which phone's is better?

I think the Epic keyboard is as good as it can get. I tried the HTC Touch Pro 2's keyboard, and its ok. I dont like the rubbery feel, though. Not to mention that the Touch Pro 2 itself is basically a brick, weighing like 50 lbs and all.

Have you used a Palm Treo or anything like that before? I haven't had a chance to try out the Epic, but I'm wondering what Palm fans think of the keyboard.

Yes I have used the Palm Treo, Pre, and Pixi. It's hard to compare because they are portrait-style hardware keyboards (like Blackberry's). But the Epic's is by far better in my opinion. Much roomier. But then again, the Epic has a landscape hardware keyboard.

I personally think the Touch Pro 2 keyboard was the best every made. The Epic is an extremely close 2nd contender. The Moto Droids don't even come close.

I loved the Treo 755p keyboard, but I think the Epic's keyboard is even better. The chicklet-style keys have great response, with awesome separation.
