Is the G3 still randomly shutting off

I'm thinking about getting a LG G3 but have heard reports the phone shuts off on its own. Has this been fixed? Also, I heard the signal strength is bad. Is that true? Thank you.

Mine has never shut down. The signal is significantly better than my previous iphone 5. The G4 will be out in a few months, so I would just wait for that at this point.

Mine has never displayed any of the problems people complain about this phone. No overheating, although I'm not a gamer or anything. No shutdowns or reboots. Battery life is great. Signal strength has been fine, even in my dungeon at work. No problem what so ever with my lollipop update. Just did the OTA and rebooted. No factory reset. Battery life improved on 5.
But, that's not to say there aren't people having issues. Some do with any phone. Seems like I scored a good one though.

Did you have to do a factory reset after installing Lollipop?

I didn't experience any issues after the update and decided not to do a factory reset.
I usually have 2.5 hours of screen time a day and about an hour of voice calls.
I'm not rooted and use no launchers. I guess I just liked it the way it came.
Still going and I'm waiting for it to crash.
