Is the Moto G6 a good replacement for the galaxy S7 day to day performance wise?

and if so is the upgrade from 32/3 to 64/4 for roughly $60 worthwhile? i'm fed up with samsung's garbage eating my battery.

also will i need to root the moto to get rid of a bunch of bloat like with the samsung phones?
