Is the note3 a mini 10.1 2014?

I have a 10.1 2014, which I love. I'm trying to decide whether to purchase a note3 for $99. It seems that the specs are the same between the two. Is the performance similar? Is the 3 still a relevant, modern performing device as of Nov 2014?

I'm pretty sure the Note 3 and Note 10.1 are different since one's a phone and one's a tablet :/ The Note 3 is still a great phone if you don't want to spend as much money on the Note 4.
